MegaStar took us safely back across the Baltic to Helsinki. This proved quite an interesting experience. A signficantly nicer boat than Star with a proper seating area, but still it had a floating Burger King onboard. Upon arrival at Helsinki it was akin to returning to Dover as a foot passenger, the Finns all loaded up with cases of beer, multiple cases in many cases as they took advantage of cross border pricing. Gosh imagine what would happen if the UK wasn’t in the EU? I digress….
We had a slow start and went to the Allas sea pools. WOW, who would have thought that you could be outside in Helsinki in September wearing swimming trunks and not freezing to death. All I can say is what a wonderful way to start the day. Really lovely and a fantastic sauna too.
Helsinki really is a beautiful city and a pleasure to walk around.
