Given that we had barely recovered from our Finnlines deluxe mini cruise across the Baltic (AKA the car ferry) we felt the need to leap on another huge passenger ferry. However, this one it turned out was a little smaller. The Helsinki Suomenlinna ferry was a rather different experience.
The trip across the hardbour was fantastic, beautiful views of the harbour archiepelago and back to the city.
Suomenlinna is truly beautiful and fascinating, absolutley amazing. Mrs Frog even had the inpsired idea to blow the holiday budget and treat us to Cornetto’s. Massively appreciated and true zen.

This cheeky chap had graduated with Distinction from the Advanced Begging Class. Any tweety bird that lets you catch his picture with a wide angle manual focus lens is pretty chilled. A few minutes later he came back with the whole family all looking really forlorn and in need of cake. Sadly they had missed that we were only drinking coffee and no cake was consumed on this occassion (Major error code in my eyes but…..)
Thankfully neither of these are minging ocean going cruise liners that have blighted our holiday.
No it’s not HMS Astute on the beach again. This one is meant to be there! A but of a theme on this trip, old submarines. A fresh shiny coat of paint. Sadly the rocks underneath didn’t have good dust sheets! Mrs Frog would never approve of such messy decorating.
Fake paddle steamer.. What a joke. The paddle wheel serves no purpose what so ever other than effect, the captain had taken her in and out of the harbour several times, obviously practising without the trashing effect. Might as well have used a combine harvest attachment.
Sometimes you just have to go, and it’s always handy to travel with a stash of toilet roll, however, if you need this much it might be time to seek professional advice.
