German Public Transport

In my commentary about the challenges the current economic situation presents to the typical German citizen in choosing a daily runaround (that isn’t a supermarket special electric bike) I thought that my avid readers might appreciate an insight into German public transport, in particular their mass transport systems.

We have had severe disruption to our sleep at two of our destinations due to proximity of the railway line and the disruption caused by the “early” commuter services that operate, as such we thought that it was only appropriate to photograph the services for others to assess the economic hardship that is limiting investment in the German Rail network…

Meet Molli

Whilst not immediately apparent the following is not Molli but her friend a few miles to the east who is affectionally known as Racing Roland…  I don’t believe that there is another train called Kevin, but given the number of 80’s throwbacks I’ve seen on this holiday nothing would surprise me anymore.
